The New York Yankees are the hottest team in Major League Baseball after winning their seventh game in a row Thursday. The Yanks beat the Minnesota Twins 7-5. Former Pirate pitcher Jameson Taillon pitched into the sixth inning, allowing three earned runs on five hits. He did not walk a batter and struck out five, improving his record to 8-4.
Meanwhile the Baltimore Orioles lost their 15th straight game, after falling to first-place Tampa Bay 7-2. The Rays lead the Yankees by five games in the A.L. East.
