With temperatures expected to rise into the mid-80s today, Central Electric is issuing a peak alert.
They ask that you turn off all non-essential electric items during the peak hours 1 to 7 p.m. and set your air conditioner to a minimum of 78 degrees.
Also they’re asking that dehumidifiers, pool pumps, and electric appliances get used outside of the peak hours today.
