The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission is encouraging eligible residents to take advantage of emergency broadband benefits.
This program was started by the Federal Communications Commission and uses $3.2 billion in funding approved by Congress in December for internet connection assistance.
Qualifying households can claim discounts of up to $50 per month for broadband service as well as a one-time discount of up to $100 to use on devices used to connect to the internet such as a computer.
This program is in addition to the current Lifeline Program that provides $5.25 each month to support affordable broadband service. This program is income based and enrollment will end when the fund runs out of money. Visit the FCC’s website for more information.
