The Butler County Sherriff is warning of another scam circulating the area.
Mike Slupe says that his department has been made aware that scammers are using the Sherriff’s fax number to spoof calls telling residents they are being sued and can pay a deputy to remove the civil documents.
Slupe reminds residents that the Sherriff’s office will never ask for money over the phone. He says to hang up and do not give financial information over the phone.
