Many residents in northern Butler County are dealing with power outages as a result of a strong storm that moved through the area.
Following the storm around 1 p.m. Tuesday, several calls came into the Butler County 911 Center about trees on wires and wires on the ground in Fairview and Washington Townships.
A total of nearly 2,800 West Penn Power customers were without power as of 2 p.m. with most of those in Harrisville Borough and Mercer Township.
The estimated time of power restoration for most of those residents is before 5 p.m. Central Electric Cooperative reported 101 customers without power.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch from the National Weather Service remains in effect until 9 p.m. Tuesday.
