Two local municipalities and a local organization will receive state funding to accomplish recreation improvement projects.
The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources has approved a grant of $110,000 to Butler County to rehabilitate Alameda Park. Money will be used to install equipment, construct walkways, improve ADA access, and landscape.
Butler City has been awarded a $40,000 Community Parks, Small Community and Partnership grant for similar work to be done at Memorial Park.
The Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania will receive $30,000 to conduct educational programming throughout the Buffalo Creek Watershed such as development of a website.
