Canine companions will be welcomed into specified areas of North Boundary Park in Cranberry Township for the first time after a ribbon cutting planned for this weekend.
A ceremony to officially open the area will take place Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the Penn Power Shelter.
The public is invited to enjoy donuts and coffee followed by a walk after the ribbon cutting.
New rules will be posted defining where leashed dogs will be permitted and volunteers will roam the trails at peak hours to educate pet owners about the rules. Violating those rules could result in a $35 fine from the Cranberry Township Police.
