Butler Township is looking for a contractor to do some demolition work in a local park.
At their meeting earlier this week, Township Commissioners approved a motion to advertise for bids to demolish two buildings at Preston Park.
The steel garage building and water pump building both need to be removed in order to allow for new restroom facilities planned for the park in the future. The buildings date from the 1950s and one has a basement that will be filled in.
The Township would like to receive bids for the project by next month with a decision made on awarding the work in December. The demolition will take place during daytime hours with no interference to trails and safeguards in place so that the park can still be used.
