The City of Butler is donating surplus emergency vehicle equipment to another group of local emergency responders.
Tuesday night Council approved a motion to give a light bar and siren box to the Lick Hill Volunteer Fire Department.
City Police Chief Bob O’Neill found the old equipment while cleaning out an area of the public safety building and determined that it was no longer able to be used by the city’s current fleet of vehicles.
The find was mentioned in passing to a member of the Lick Hill VFD who said they were looking for this kind of equipment and could make use of it. O’Neill also said that he has found other items he has been able to repurpose and put back into use for city police.
