There’s still time to sign up to participate in a program to learn more about the job done by local firefighters.
The Butler Township Volunteer Fire District and the City of Butler Bureau of Fire are holding a Citizens Fire Academy. The program consists of five classes starting Wednesday, October 16th.
This free program will let residents get a closer look at firefighter training, equipment, history, and responsibilities. Participants will have the chance to wear firefighter gear, cut apart a vehicle, operate hoselines, and face a live fire scenario.
Those interested can contact the Butler Bureau of Fire at 724-283-3100.
