The life and dedication of a local community member will be remembered with a special ceremony later this week at the Butler Area Public Library.
Wednesday at 6 p.m. the library’s rain garden will officially be named as Julie’s Garden in honor of Julie Dandoy.
This dedication will include members of the library’s board of directors and staff as well as Penn State Extension Master Gardeners.
Dandoy had a passion for gardening as a certified Master Gardener and a member of the Butler Garden Club. She also served as chair of Butler City’s Shade Tree Commission as well as a member of the Butler Library Board on the buildings and grounds committee. She passed away in March of 2018.
