As part of the state’s effort to prevent opioid deaths, free naloxone will be given away later this week.
The distribution will happen from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. this Wednesday at the Butler County State Health Center inside the Monarch Building on Brugh (said Brew) Avenue.
Naloxone is used to reverse an overdose caused by an opioid by blocking the effects of the opioids to the brain.
There will be another naloxone distribution day across the state next Wednesday.
