The head of Butler County’s Human Services department will retire in October.
The county commissioners announced the retirement of Joyce Ainsworth on Friday. She has worked for the county for 30 years- starting out as a mental health specialist in late the 80s.
She climbed her way through the ranks before being named the Human Service Director in 2014. The department covers all aspects of human service- including mental health, intellectual disabilities and early intervention.
The county has hired internally to replace Ainsworth. Brandon Savochka will take over the role. He has worked for the county since 2013. He has a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Waynesburg University, with continuing education and certification in the therapeutic crisis intervention field.
Ainsworth and Savochka will work together during the month of October, before she officially retires at the end of the month.
