The Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates 9-7 last night to open a three-game series at PNC Park. National League home run leader Christian Yelich hit two home runs last night, and now has 39 for the season. Recently traded Jordan Lyles allowed just two hits in five innings to earn his seventh win of the season. He allowed three runs, but only one was earned.
Pirates starter Dario Agrazal allowed five earned runs on eight hits over five innings. Bryan Reynolds had three of the Pirates eight hits, including his 10th home run of the year. Recently called up Pablo Reyes hit his first home run of the year.
The Bucs and Brewers meet again tonight at 7:05pm. Pre-game on WISR is 6:40pm. Steven Brault returns from the Injured List to start for the Bucs.
The Pirates have fallen to 48-64 overall and are 12-1/2 back in the N.L. Central.
