Wednesday marks 17 years since two teenagers were killed on a road in Forward Township—and police are still trying to figure out who was responsible.
Shawn Fosnaught and Scott Baur were both 15-year-old Seneca Valley students back in 2002 when in the early hours of July 17th, a passing motorist found the two boys along Cashdollar Road.
Police say the two boys were walking home from a field party when Baur was most likely hit by a passing vehicle that killed him instantly. Fosnaught was barely alive when police arrived, and died soon thereafter.
It’s the injury that killed Fosnaught, however, that is baffling to officials. He suffered only head trauma, an injury police say is not normally associated with a vehicle accident. No manner of Fosnaught’s death has ever been determined.
Police also didn’t see skid marks, broken glass, or vehicle parts at the scene.
In the years since, no credible suspects have been identified. Rewards for information about their deaths total at least $20,000.
