The Butler County Bar Association Foundation, the charitable affiliate of the Butler County Bar Association, will provide more than $22,000 in grants to seven local organizations.
The association said the seven community organizations and projects were selected because they improve the administration of justice and provide support to those in need in our community.
The 2019 grant recipients are:
Butler City Police Department – K9 Officer: Purchase two, trained, ready to work, police K9s
and a K9 equipped vehicle in order to reinstate a functioning K9 Unit abruptly disrupted due to
a K9 death.
Community Care Connections: Increase quality of Camp Apple program for behaviorally
challenged campers in need of specialized support.
Jean B. Purvis Community Health Center: Formerly Community Health Clinic of Butler County,
the Jean B Purvis Community Health Center provides primary healthcare, dental care,
medications and health & wellness education services to those in need.
Life Choices, Inc: Assisting women in overcoming minor obstacles that have the potential to
resolve major challenges in their lives, such as helping with legal issues, renewing
identifications as well as helping with temporary custody arrangements.
Neighborhood Legal Services: Provides free legal services to people with low-income and
people with disabilities. Funds to assist with reopening of Butler office.
Robin’s Home: Robin’s Home intends to operate a supportive housing program in the city of
Butler for female veterans and their families facing homelessness.
Slippery Rock Community Library: Community Coding Initiative (CCI) classes will provide a
unique and valuable service to citizens of Butler County, particularly for students interested in
developing programming skills and computer literacy.
The Butler County Bar Association Foundation and its charitable mission is supported by the Butler County Bar Association and generous gifts from individuals lawyers and firms.
