The PA Dept. of Health is partnering with medical schools in the state on a research program focusing on medical marijuana.
The goal of the research, according to PA Health Secretary Dr. Rachel Levine, is to provide physicians with the latest information regarding the 21 conditions the state has approved for treatment with medical marijuana.
A total of eight clinical registrants will work with the state. The first three announced this week are connected with the University of Pennsylvania, Drexel University and the Penn State College of Medicine.
In 2016, Gov. Tom Wolf signed a bill legalizing the use of marijuana for medicinal purposes in Pennsylvania.
