The future of the Butler School District will be talked about at a public meeting on Monday.
Superintendent Brian White said he plans to present the information the district has gathered over the past year regarding a possible school reorganization.
White said it’s needed due to impending infrastructure renovations at the current middle school- which is the former Butler Jr. High.
The district has held a series of school organization community forums over the past several months to hear from parents, students, faculty, staff and community members.
Following tonight’s 7:30 p.m. meeting- which is a regular school board meeting- another survey will be distributed for additional feedback.
Superintendent Brian White sent a letter to parents last week:
Dear Butler Area School District Community:
I would like to invite you all to the school board meeting on Monday, June 10, 2019 at the Intermediate High School at 7:30 pm. At that meeting, I will present the information we have gathered from all of our school reorganization meetings this year. I will also present my recommendation regarding the future organization of our schools. Following the meeting, I intend to post a copy of my report to our website for the community to review.
We began thinking about the future organization of our schools in the fall of 2018. The impetus of this was the impending infrastructure renovations that are needed at the current middle school (the old junior high building). After a series of School Organization Community Forums, we received a lot of valuable feedback from our faculty, staff, parents, students and community members. I’d like to thank everybody who took the time to share their feedback with us.
Following the June 10th meeting, I will offer another opportunity for our community to share their thoughts with us through a survey. The survey link will be posted to our website with the report. I encourage you all to share your feedback.
