The process of dispensing smaller garbage and recycling containers to some Butler Township residents is about halfway complete.
According to Butler Township Manager Tom Knights, about 330 of the smaller containers have been distributed by township buildings and grounds employees so far.
About 165 additional Butler Township residents- who requested the smaller containers between January and March of this year- should expect a call from the township about two days in advance of an upcoming trash pickup day with further instructions.
There is no second round of smaller cans anticipated at this time, but those who have not yet made their desire for smaller cans known, can call the township and be placed on a waiting list. The exact date of completion for the dispensing of the cans is not known at this time.
