First-time hunters and trappers are invited to attend one of several required training sessions coming to the area over the next few weeks.
Starting this week, several classes will be offered to beginning hunters and trappers who have not yet completed their required PA Game Commission training.
The dates, times, and locations of those classes include:
- June 3 and 4 from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Summit Township Sportsmen’s Club
- June 15 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Mars Rod and Gun Club
- June 29 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Peaceful Valley Campground
- July 20 from 8 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. at the Cranberry Township Municipal Center
- July 27 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Valley Dam Sportsman Snowmobile Association
Online registration on the Game Commission’s website is recommended for all of these courses. Persons 16 and older may also complete the training online.
Participants are reminded that the classroom training is free of charge, while the online option carries a $19.50 fee made payable upon successful completion of the course.
