A power outage is affecting a large number of residents in northern Butler County.
A total of over 1,600 West Penn power customers in Slippery Rock Township, Worth Township, and Slippery Rock Borough have lost power.
Few details are known about the reason for the outage at this point, however some sort of transformer malfunction is suspected.
Service is expected to be restored by sometime around 3:30 p.m.
