Mars, Pennsylvania will be celebrating the Martian New Year this week with a huge celebration.
This is the third such event for Mars, although it’s been two years since the last one was held. It takes 687 earth days for the planet Mars to circle the sun. So, the planet Mars celebrates its Mars New Year every 687 days.
The ‘Blast-Off Dinner’ took place in March but lots of other free events are planned for this weekend including a sci-fi costume contest with prizes, live music and a custom drone show on Friday as well as NASA speakers, interactive exhibits, a rocket launch, and robotics competitions Saturday and Sunday.
For more information about scheduled events and speakers as well as activities, exhibits, parking, and shuttles, visit marsnewyear.com.
