A candidate for the open judge position on the Butler County Court of Common Pleas has filed another legal motion to be heard Thursday afternoon.
The legal representation of Jennifer Gilliland-Vanasdale has filed an emergency petition to stay election pending investigation into voter irregularity.
Before the results of the primary election are certified, Vanasdale would like to have all alleged voting irregularities documented and turned over to her. Vanasdale believes that mistakes made by poll workers at the precincts may have resulted in her current six vote deficit to candidate William “Wink” Robinson for Democratic nominee.
On Tuesday, Vanasdale asked that her lawyer be given access to the 633 absentee ballots which were already received and counted and added into the results of last week’s election. This request was denied by a judge. Following the hearing, Vanasdale’s lawyer said that a decision about requesting a recount would be made by Friday.
