A portion of a busy highway in Butler County is being shut down for an indefinite amount of time due to wires that could fall down.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has directed local emergency responders to close Interstate 79 between Route 228 in Cranberry Township and the Warrendale exit in both directions.
This decision has been made as a result of very low hanging power lines near the Wexford exit that could fall down onto the highway.
It is unknown when repairs will be made and the road would reopen. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes.
