A number of Butler County streets and roads were under water as part the storms that hit the area last night.
A state of emergency was declared in Zelienople because of flooding on multiple roads—including Main Street. The mayor issued the emergency last night urging residents to remain inside and stay off the roads because of the conditions.
During the course of the storm, Butler County 911 officials received over 150 calls for flooding, rescues, downed wires and trees. There are still some road closures and downed trees that could affect your morning commute.
Certain areas reported massive rain amount totals. The Sarver area saw 4.65 inches of rain. Adams Township meanwhile received over three inches.
Unfortunately, the severe weather could return later today. Butler County is still under a flood warning (until 8:15 a.m.) and the atmosphere is conducive for the types of storms we saw yesterday.
