Some drama is playing out on Friday as the Butler County Elections Board meets to consider 12 provisional ballots.
The ballots could have an impact on a couple of local races because the margins between some candidates were so small.
One candidate in the race for Butler County Common Pleas Court Judge is challenging one of the three people that sit on the election board. The election board is appointed by the commissioners in every election to evaluate any provisional ballot and overlook all results as a whole.
Provisional ballots are a fail-safe for voters who showed up to the polls on Tuesday but couldn’t cast a ballot due to some type of error. They instead vote provisionally and then its decided later if their vote can be counted.
In the judge race, William “Wink” Robinson won the Democratic nomination by only six votes over Jennifer Gilliland-Vanasdale.
