Some students will spend the day outdoors helping improve a local creek later this week.
Students from Butler Intermediate High School are participating in “Fisheries Science Trout Release Day” at the Thorn Creek Habitat Improvement site on Tuesday, May 21 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The kids will be working with employees of XTO Energy, reps from the state Fish & Boat Commission, and members of the Butler County Conservation District to do things including water testing, a trout release, tree planting and litter clean-up.
The Thorn Creek improvement site is on Winters Road in Butler.
