Pennsylvania has a new state Veterinarian.
Dr. Kevin Brightbill was appointed to the post by state agriculture officials. He previously worked in the department’s Bureau of Animal Health and Diagnostic Services.
Brightbill is a native of Millerstown in Perry County, and holds a Bachelor Degree in animal bioscience from Penn State, as well as a Doctorate from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine.
His main duties will include tracing the origins of disease outbreaks and preventing foodborne illnesses.
