The Redevelopment Authority of the City of Butler will have repairs made at the Penn Theater following damage done by an unknown individual last month.
The Authority was informed by City Police that a large pane of glass in a door at the theater was broken April 20th. The person responsible was not apprehended but a nearby business owner reported loitering, loud noise, and people playing hockey in the area around that same time.
A new pane of thicker glass has been made and will be installed soon at a cost of $54.
The authority will investigate the possibility of replacing the glass in the other seven doors at the theater with the same heavier glass to reduce the chances of future breakage as well as look into the possibility of purchasing a security camera to discourage destruction.
