Following a merger, the Harmony Fire District is set to break ground on a new, bigger facility.
The district will build what they called a state-of-the-art center on Route 19 by the Northgate Plaza and move out of their current department in Harmony Borough.
Officials say since the merging of the Zelienople and Harmony volunteer fire departments, the district has been “pressed for space” in their current one-story station.
The new facility is expected to include a fitness center, several bunk rooms and a training center.
