The Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the Nashville Predators 2-1 in a shoot-out last night. Sidney Crosby scored the lone goal of the shoot-out to earn the victory. Bryan Rust scored the Penguins lone goal in regulation. Nashville scored with three minutes remaining in the game to extend the game. Matt Murray stopped 28 of 29 shots.
The Pens got some help in the standings as well. The New York Islanders fell to Montreal 4-0, so the Pens have tied the Islanders for second place in the Metropolitan Division. Tampa Bay defeated Carolina 6-3. The Pens are now four points up on the Hurricanes. Columbus has fallen one point out of the playoff race behind Montreal.
The Pens visit Dallas Saturday. Face-off is 8pm. Pre-game on WISR is 7:30pm.
