The Philadelphia Flyers defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins 2-1 in overtime Sunday night. The Flyers scored with less than a minute remaining in regulation with their goaltender pulled to force the extra period. They scored the game-winner with three seconds remaining in the overtime. Teddy Blueger scored the only Penguins goal.
The Pens lost to St. Louis 5-1 Saturday afternoon.
Bryan Rust returned to the Penguins lineup Sunday for the first time since suffering an injury February 26th. The Pens played last night without center Evgeni Malkin, who went down in the St. Louis game after being hit by stick in the rib area. Kris Letang remains out of the lineup.
The Pens begin a four-game road trip Tuesday when the visit Carolina with nine games remaining in the regular season. They are three points in front of the Hurricanes for third place in the Metropolitan Division. The Pens are three points behind the New York Islanders and Washington Capitals, who are tied for first place in the division.
