The South Butler County School Board will vote on a new contract with their transportation provider next week.
Superintendent Dr. David Foley shared some details about the agreement with W. L. Roenigk, Inc including the fact that it begins July 1st of 2019 and will continue for seven years.
The total amount of the deal is $21 million and it includes a 1.36 percent increase over the course of the agreement. The deal also includes a freeze in year three on the cost of all van, vo-tech, and kindergarten transport, a freeze in year four on the cost of regular bus transport, and a freeze in year seven on all transport.
According to Foley, both sides are happy with the deal and it has already been thoroughly reviewed by legal representation for both sides. Discussions have been ongoing since November. Roenigk has been South Butler’s transportation provider since 2002.
