An Armstrong County man is facing a long list of charges after he’s accused of leaving the scene of an accident and then injuring a police officer who tried to arrest him.
27-year-old Corey Doerr is accused of crashing his vehicle into two mailboxes and a utility pole on Alameda Road in Butler Township late Sunday afternoon, and then leaving the scene.
Butler Township Police tracked the badly-damaged vehicle to the nearby Point Plaza parking lot, where they say they found an intoxicated Doerr along with a female passenger.
As an officer tried to place Doerr under arrest, he allegedly resisted and the officer had to activate his “Man Down” alarm which called for backup. The officer sustained minor injuries. Doerr later tried to kick out the windows of the police car and allegedly threatened the family of the arresting officer.
Doerr was treated at Butler Memorial Hospital before being placed in the Butler County Prison on $100,000 bail.
