Boys Basketball:
–Mars defeated Franklin Regional 59-51. Andrew Recchia led the Planets with 17.
–Steel Valley defeated Knoch 56-34. The Knights were held to just eight points in the opening half. Scott Frazier led Knoch with 13 points.
Tonight, the Knights host Valley. Hear the game on WISR beginning with the pregame at 7:15pm.
Butler will travel to Mt. Lebanon – hear the game on WBUT 1050am beginning at 7:15pm.
The Mars 9th grade boys fell to North Hills 75-68.
Girls Basketball:
–Butler opened section-play with a 46-28 victory over Shaler. Jordan Kauffman had a hot night shooting three pointers and netted 15 for the Tornado.
–North Allegheny defeated Seneca Valley 67-47. McKenna Gross netted 18 for the Raiders.
–Mars topped Gateway 54-42. Tai Johnson led Mars with 14.
–Knoch-39 Indiana-34.
–Freeport-74 Highlands-37. Harley Holloway led the Yellow Jackets with 17.
–Fox Chapel downed Pine-Richland 56-51.
–AC Valley over Brockway 51-28.
Bowling:
The Butler high school bowling teams swept Mars 7-0 Monday (12/17/18) at Family Bowlaway.
Senior Jordan Reges led the Butler boys with a 699 series on games of 233-226-240. Junior Chris Huff added a 560 series with high game of 203. Butler improved to 3-0 overall.
The Butler girls were led by senior Jordyn Graham who rolled a 536 series with a high game of 211. Freshman Madison Weiland added a high game of 192. The Butler girls are 2-1.
The Butler Middle School Hockey team defeated Moon 4-3. Butler outshot Moon 39-10. Ronald Kuczynski, Brayden Povlick, Carson Bish and Cullen Miller scored the Butler goals.
