Events, focused on the recovery process, in Butler are scheduled for Thursday, August 31, 2017, which is National Opioid Overdose Prevention Day. It will be a day of education and a reminder to people that recovery happens.
Counselor Ruth Ann Durso, with the Butler Health System, says these sessions are not only for those who are facing addiction, but for families as well.
The 9 AM morning session will be at the Government Center in Butler with a speaker focusing on the recovery process. An RSVP is required for this event due to limited space. Email [email protected].
Another presentation will take place from 12pm-2pm in Diamond Park, with the Butler County Commissioners in attendance, Butler County Judges who are in the specialty courts, and the Special Assistant to the Secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services. This second session does not need an RSVP since there will be more space for seating.
Both sessions are free and open to the public.
