The Pittsburgh Pirates set a season high with 18 hits Friday night as they beat the Rockies 13-5 at Coors Field.
First Baseman Josh Bell had four hits in the game which included a bases clearing double in the second inning. Andrew McCutchen added three hits and three RBI’s while Jordy Mercer hit a two run home run in the sixth inning that went a projected distance of 444 feet.
The Pirates have now won six games in a row and are just two games behind the first place Brewers by two games.
