High School Sports:
–The Butler high boys bowling team swept Shaler 7-0 to open their season Wednesday. Trey Barto led Butler with a 630 series. Jordan Reges added a 608 series.
–The Butler girls lost their first match in more than a year, falling 4-3 to Shaler. Jordyn Graham rolled a 619 series to lead Butler. Shaler won the opening game by two pins, and the second by 10 pins. Butler entered the match as the defending WPIBL and Pennsylvania Western Regional champions.
–Freeport boys fell to Apollo-Ridge 5-2. Freeport girls won 7-0.
–Armstrong defeated St. Joseph 5-2. Armstrong girls won 7-0.
