The latest College Football Playoff rankings released last night keep Alabama, Clemson and Notre Dame in the top three. Georgia moves up from fifth to fourth this week. Three of the top four have championship games that will determine the final rankings that will be revealed Sunday.
Clemson will face Pitt in the ACC title game Saturday night in Charlotte. Kick-off is 8pm.
Alabama is meeting Georgia in the SEC championship. Kick-off is 4pm.
Oklahoma and Texas play for the Big 12 championship while Ohio State will meet Northwestern in the Big Ten title game. Oklahoma is currently the fifth team in the CFP rankings. Ohio State is sixth.
Penn State is 12th in the rankings. West Virginia slid to #16.
Mack Brown has returned as head coach of the North Carolina football team. He reached a five-year deal to replace Larry Fedora, who was fired Sunday. Brown led the Tar Heals in the 1990’s before leaving for Texas, where he led the Longhorns to a national championship.
Slippery Rock will meet Notre Dame College Saturday in the NCAA Division II quarterfinals. Kick-off is noon. Hear the game at 11:30am on The Rock Station 97.7fm.
Duquesne will meet South Dakota State Saturday in the FCS playoffs second round. Kick-off is 3pm.
