The Slippery Rock University football team will visit New Haven in Connecticut tomorrow in the second round of the NCAA Division II tournament. Kick-off is 1pm. Hear the game on The Rock Station 97.7fm and at 977rocks.com. The Rock enters the game 10-2 overall. New Haven is 9-2.
Both teams had eight-game winning streaks snapped in conference championship games two weeks ago. Ironically, both teams tomorrow defeated the winner of those conference championship games last week to open the playoffs. The Rock defeated Northeast Conference winner Long Island-Post 20-14 last Saturday, while New Haven handed West Chester their first loss of the season 35-28.
Penn State will host Maryland to finish their regular season Saturday. Kick-off is 3:30pm. WBUT pre-game is 2pm.
Pitt will visit Miami to complete their regular season Saturday. Kick-off is 3:30pm.
A number of traditional “rivalry” games will be played today: Virginia – Virginia Tech begins at 3:30pm. Oregon-Oregon State play at 4pm. Washington-Washington State play at 8:30m.
West Virginia will host Oklahoma tonight at 8pm in Morgantown.
