A Slippery Rock man is facing several charges following a bizarre burglary and attempted home invasion over the weekend.
State Police say Dustin Miller, 26, broke into a vehicle and then tried to get into a home on Hines Road in Slippery Rock Township on early Sunday morning.
Two people were home at the time and told police they tried to deter Miller from breaking in, but were unsuccessful.
After breaking several locks in an attempt to get inside, Miller allegedly threw a large boulder through a glass front door of the home. One of the victims told police he feared for his life, and fired one round from his single shot shotgun, striking Miller.
He was taken to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh and has since been released.
It’s unclear if Miller and the victims knew each other.
