The man accused of murdering 11 people and wounding a number of others during Saturday’s synagogue shooting in Pittsburgh is being housed in the Butler County Prison.
Warden Joe DeMore said 46-year-old Robert Bowers was transferred to Butler on Tuesday afternoon by U.S. Marshals.
“He’s here and he’ll be taken care of like any other inmate,” DeMore said.
It’s unclear why he was moved to Butler and it’s unknown how long he’ll be here.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office said their policy is not to comment about the housing status of federal detainees due to security concerns.
