State Police would like to remind hunters about the law when it comes to parking on certain highways.
Highways- including Interstates 79, 80 and 376, as well as State Routes 28, 60 and part of 422- are considered “limited access” highways.
Parking on the berm or in the grass next to these roads is prohibited.
Sometimes hunters park off roads like these before heading into the woods, but violators could face fines, as well as court costs and fees.
Hunters should also always ask permission to park on private property.
“PSP urges those hunting not to park on limited access highways when they take to the woods. Park lawfully alongside roads or seek permission from property owners to park when going hunting,” according to a news release by officers at Troop D.
Those with questions should contact the Butler Barracks of the State Police.
