A second person has been charged in connection with an Adams Township Police investigation of written bomb threats and “rumors of possible violence” at the Mars Area School District.
According to our news partners at WPXI-TV, a second 16-year-old girl was charged Monday after another 16-year-old girl was charged Friday. The unidentified girls will face disciplinary action from the district as well as criminal charges.
Rumors of violence last Thursday came after Mars High School was evacuated twice earlier in the week for bomb threats. In each case nothing was found but classes were cancelled for all students Friday as a precaution. The motive behind the threats was reportedly a desire by the students to get out of school.
Adams Township Police could not be immediately reached for further comment but it is believed that their investigation is ongoing and could result in further charges.
