High School Sports:
–The Knoch Girls Tennis team fell to Sewickley Academy 4-1 Thursday in the WPIAL 2A championship.
–North Allegheny defeated Shady Side Academy 4-1 to win the 3A championship. It is the Tigers sixth consecutive league title.
–North Allegheny swept the Tri-State Track Coaches Association 3A Invitational at California University of Pa Thursday. The Seneca Valley Boys finished third overall out of 28 teams. Butler finished fifth. Zachary Leachman of Mars finished fifth overall.
–The Seneca Valley Girls finished fifth out of 27 teams.
–The Knoch Boys finished fourth in the 2A.
–Alaina Hicks of North Catholic was runner-up in the 1A.
The WPIAL team and individual championships will be held at Cal next Thursday.
Hockey:
–Butler-4 Cathedral Prep-1.
Girls Volleyball:
–Seneca Valley-3 Butler-1.
–Hampton-3 Mars-2.
–Knoch-3 New Castle-0.
–North Catholic-3 Avonworth-1.
–Freeport-3 Deer Lakes-0.
