Police have arrested the man they believe was responsible for burglarizing a Saxonburg restaurant last week.
Chad Hildebrand, 20, allegedly confessed to the Oct. 7th break-in at Kelley’s Family Restaurant on West Main Street.
“You got me. I was really drunk, and low on money, and it’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever done,” Hildebrand allegedly told police, according to a criminal complaint.
Police were initially called the restaurant while the burglary was still taking place. They saw a suspect jump from the roof and run. Officers chased the man, but then lost him.
Saxonburg police say a shoe left at the scene- and fingerprints- helped lead them to Hildebrand.
He is being held in the Butler County Prison.
