The Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the Vegas Golden Knights 4-2 last night at PPG Paints Arena. Phil Kessel scored a hat trick with three consecutive goals for the Penguins. It was his sixth career hat trick, but first with the Pens. Jake Guentzel scored the other Penguins goal. Casey DeSmith stopped 35 of 37 shots on goal. The Pens are now 2-1 this season and visit Montreal tomorrow night. Hear the game on WISR 680am beginning at 6:30pm. Face-off is 7pm.
Goaltender Matt Murray returned to practice Thursday after suffering a concussion Monday. He did not play last night.
