Kasey Kahne confirmed Tuesday he will retire early and not compete for the remainder of the season. Kahne had announced plans to retire after this season’s conclusion, but lingering heat exhaustion issues had kept him sidelined since the Brickyard 400. After a resent on-track test, Kahne decided it was in the best interest of his health to call it a career. Kahne has enjoyed a successful, 15-year career at the Cup level. In total he has 18 wins and 27 poles in 527 starts.
