New water tests inside Karns City School District buildings have revealed elevated levels of lead and copper from several water fixtures.
Superintendent Eric Ritzert said in a letter to parents on Thursday that the fixtures have been shut off and will be replaced. Bottled water will continue to be made available for students and staff at all three district buildings.
“We plan to have additional water quality testing done. We will share the results when we have them,” he said.
Karns City first identified issues with their water last month.
Full water tests results are available here.
