The Washington Capitals will be visiting PPG Paints Arena tonight for the Penguins home opener this season.
The NHL season kicked off yesterday (October 3rd) with four games, including a 7-0 rout of the Boston Bruins by the Stanley Cup champion Washington Capitals on their home ice. The win came after a banner-raising ceremony for the Capitals’ first championship. In the day’s other results:

Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson was suspended for 20 games by the NHL yesterday (October 3rd) for a blindside hit to the head of the St. Louis Blues’ Oskar Sundqvist during a preseason game this past weekend. The suspension is Wilson’s fourth for on-ice play in less than 13th months, which was noted by the league. Wilson was ejected from the game on Sunday over the hit.
